The Bodyguard’s Christmas Promise
Layne Arina resigned from being a bodyguard to families overseas after she failed on her last assignment. She’s learning to be a civilian, but her gun is as much a part of her as her arm. She dreams of having a family of her own, but she’s not soft or motherly. When she meets the people renting the vacation cottage next door, the daughter Schuyler forms an immediate attachment to Layne, and Layne begins to think dreams might be possible.
Aaron Malone brought Schuyler to the beach on her therapist’s recommendation. Schuyler hasn’t spoken since her mother died a year ago. But now that she’s talking to Layne, she tells him that a man threatened her to be silent on the day her mother died. Was his wife’s death really an accident? Layne insists they return to his hometown to start an investigation. She promises to protect them.
With Layne armed, will Aaron ever look at her with desire again, or will they both realize she can’t change what she is? She promised to protect them. Now that they own her heart, she can’t fail.
